Since Sunday night’s last NRMP monitoring night, things have started to really pick up on the swift front. The warming weather has certainly brought a spring into the flight of our Manitoba swifts. On a personal note, yesterday (Tuesday), I saw my first South Osborne swifts of the year, and this morning (Wednesday), I noted four swifts around the Manitoba Legislature. This is to say that for those volunteers who have so far not been rewarded with sightings of swifts at your site, things are moving quickly, and the next three monitoring nights should, as long as the warm weather continues, be much more engaging than our previous three. This has been one very slow start.
